I’m Back, Maybe?

Well I FINALLY felt 100% yesterday for the first time. That only took 10 days… Of course the day I feel better my Son gets a horrible case of the stomach flu. My wife stayed home with him yesterday, now today she has it. What is going on around here??? So today I’m home taking care of the two of them, trying my best to make sure I don’t get it too. This stomach thing was going around my Son’s daycare and he was the last one to get it. So I’m pretty sure it’s totally different than what I had, which makes me nervous. I’ve been washing my hands like every 15 minutes and sanitizing everything that’s being touched all day.

My training has been back in full swing and it’s been so great to have my drive back. I’m totally back to feeling like myself again, and I’m happy for that. I kinda like me. :) I had really good training sessions Monday and Tuesday. Monday was core and my abs are still killing me today. Yesterday was shoulders and calves. We tried a new calves workout a friend from Twitter told me about, absolutely brutal. Give it a shot if you’re feeling brave. Definitely helps to have a training partner to put on and take off the weights for you but it could be done alone.

Today I was suppose to have basketball but I’m staying home to take care of my ailing family. So today is a rest day, hopefully I’ll be able to get after quads day tomorrow but we’ll see how things go. Tomorrow is actually our 9th wedding anniversary but we are planning on going out Friday night to celebrate (if everyone can get healthy that is.) Can I just tell you how much I love that my wife is the type that doesn’t care if things are done on the exact dates? So long as we celebrate at some point it’s all good. She keeps it real, and it’s just one of a million reasons I fell for her. She doesn’t get caught up in the girly crap! :)

As far as my “maintenance phase” I’m suppose to be on. That was blown out of the water with my sickness. I went from 193 to 186, so much for slowly moving into a cutting phase. I’ve gotten myself back up to 189 now so I’ll spend the next week trying to get it back and then from there it’s time to turn to the full blown fat loss program!

Hope everyone else is staying healthy!

I feel your pain. The flu just kinda lingers around and makes you feel like yuck. Sorry you now have the stomach bug too. I had that. Just know that you have priorities straight…taking care of your family. That holds more weight in my book. ;)

  2. Interesting video..thanks for sharing. I just did this machine on Tuesday and did quads and calves. This suggestion looks more beneficial and a better burn than pumping higher weights like the quad weight. I will try a version of this Friday…after these calves rebuild from Tuesday. :)

Yes, Happy Anniversary. Would those acidophilus tablets help prevent stomach bugs do you think?

Happy Anniversary! I have to say, it’s pretty neat to see the perspective of someone trying to keep weight on, for a change. Most everyone I come in contact with is trying to take it off. There are challenges for all sides.

Happy Anniversay and it doesn’t matter when you celebrate it. I agree with your wife. Last year, my husband and I celebrated 2 weeks after our official date because he was out of town for work. Take care. That stomach bug is highly contagious.

Thanks! Yep as long as it’s celebrated that’s the important thing right!? I’ve been washing my hands like crazy, to the point where no matter how much lotion I use they still hurt. :) Looks like they are getting over it super fast so thankfully it’s looking like something quick and I’ve hopefully avoided it!
